About Wilmington

wilmington logo

Taking cues from Wilmington’s rich maritime history as well as its progressive present as a modern port city, Hotel Ballast brings new life to the Cape Fear River waterfront. Experience one of the South's most charming shopping destinations - from chic beach boutiques and upscale malls to eclectic emporiums and avant-garde art galleries. You'll find everything here. Whether you're interested in designer or vintage apparel, cutting-edge art, or one-of-a-kind antiques, Wilmington takes retail therapy to new levels.

Wilmington and its island beaches are renowned for some of the South's best restaurants and eateries. Feast on down-home classics such as fried shrimp or pulled pork. Dine outdoors and indulge in excellent seafood creations at a popular riverfront or oceanfront spot. Craft beer aficionados can quench their thirst at local breweries and area top hops spots.
